    History

    A family affair

Back in 1969, was Morzine’s first restaurant when  Mr et Mme THORENS, opened its doors. They homemade pancakes attracted families coming back from the ski slopes, and a few years later they opened Club Chamade on the first floor, a favourite for late-night dancers who ate wood-fired pizzas by candlelight ! This family tradition continued in the 1980s when their son Thierry took over at the reins of the restaurant. With his extensive experience in fine French and Swiss kitchens — not to mention at Paul Bocuse — and with top qualifications to boot, Thierry wasted no time in putting his own mark on the business.

Le Coup de Coeur opens in 2010

Over the course of winter 1969-1970, Michel and Germaine THORENS welcomed visitors to their lively new Morzine restaurant. With its little wooden tables and candlelight, the venue boasted a wood-fired pizza oven and a modern new pancake machine. In 2010, Valery and Thierry THORENS offered up something new: Le Coup de Coeur. The wine bar, located opposite the restaurant, continues to provide a new dining experience for Morzine. It’s a place where guest can eat in friendly, design-led venue, either at the bar or on the terrace facing the tourist office square, opposite the Pleney’s slopes…
